Camping 101 for Women - Light Up Your Night
There is nothing worse than trying to walk to your tent at night and finding yourself tripping, stumbling, or falling. I know. I've done that!! Have you? Without the proper lighting it is just a disaster waiting to happen.
I can tell you there is hope for us all. Lighting at night becomes crucial when you are camping. So take the time to check out all the flashlights and lanterns that are available in the market for you to choose from. A lot depends on what type of a camper you are. If you are someone who likes to camp in RV parks (I've done a little of that) your need for serious lighting is diminished a little. The RV park usually provides it through the use of yard lights. Depending on where you pitch your tent may make a difference as to the amount you need. If you are not by that yard light, picking a flashlight or lantern is necessary in order to provide you a clear path to where you are going. There are still propane lanterns, which have been around for a long time. They provide you good lighting without costing you a lot of money. There are also the battery flashlights and lanterns that can help you make your way back to your tent. Get a couple of extra flashlights for the rest of your family, to provide them with the light they need.
If you are a camper that loves to camp in the great outdoors, having good lighting is essential. Today there are the new LED flashlights and lanterns that provide you unbelievable lighting. Your campsites aren't level, there are rocks spread across your path back to your tent, dips in the ground, and fallen trees and branches. Let me give you a hint. Once you have set up your camp site, take a few minutes (or send your children) to clean a pathway to and from the camp fire. I have slowly shifted from LED flashlights to LED lanterns because of the larger area that is lit up. It is also handy once you get to your tent, because you can set them down on the ground and it lights up the whole tent. There are also tent lights that attach to the top of your tent, which also gives you ample lighting. Some of the lighting can also be turned down to provide you a night light. Here's another suggestion. Try one of the lanterns, which will allow you to detach one section of the lantern that makes up the main lantern. This offers you the ability to share that light with someone else and still have a light to guide you back to the tent.
There is a wide variety to choose from, so pick the one that will work for your camping needs. There is no reason not to provide yourself with the lighting needed to make your camping experience safe. But don't forget to pack extra batteries!! Happy Camping everyone.
